The Making of Parvathy Farms: A Miracle in Goonipalayam
In 2011, after retirement from public service, Dr. Mrs. Rama Venkataraman took up a divine calling to breathe life into 10 acres of completely dry, barren gravel land in Goonipalayam village, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.
With unyielding faith and guided by the sacred teachings of Kanchi Mahaperiyava on Gho Samrakshana and Vruksha Seva, she set out to restore ecological balance without chemical fertilizers or commercial greed.
To overcome severe water scarcity, 3 percolation recharge ponds were engineered, holding millions of liters of monsoon rainwater that revived the local water table for kilometers around. Over 3,000 indigenous trees were planted, transforming dry wasteland into a thriving bird and wildlife haven.
Today, Parvathy Farms flourishes under the registered PARVATHY GHO and VRUKSHA SEVA TRUST (Regd No. 28/2021). Devotees and families from Chennai, Bangalore, and across India visit to find profound peace, worship their astrological birth trees, and serve sacred indigenous cattle.
